HP recently released its new Z workstation lineup and it is the company's most powerful and upgrade friendly workstation ever. The lineup consists of three new workstations- Z4, Z6, and Z8- with the high-end Z8 featuring 24 RAM slots that can hold up to 1.5 TB of RAM.
HP Z8 specifications:
- Processor- Dual Intel Xeon Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum CPUs (with up to 56 cores)
- RAM- up to 1.5TB RAM
- Expansion- 2 PCIe x4, 3 PCIe x8, 4 PCIe x16, and 2 M.2 slots
- GPU- up to two Nvidia Quadro Pro graphics cards
As you can probably tell from looking at the specifications, the workstations are being marketed to VFX artists who will be able to run 3D simulations or edit 8K video on the systems without any hiccups.
HP's Z8 Workstation is expected to go on sale in October at a starting price of $2,439 (~₹1,56,090), which does not include the processors, RAM and GPUs.
